Description
From completing the 3 courses, participants will gain the knowledge and practical competence necessary to be able to deal with a range of workplace first aid situations.
Day 1 of the course is the Emergency First Aid in the Workplace element
and on Days 2 and 3 participants will learn how to recognise and manage illnesses and injury in the workplace.
This course can be taken as a 2-day requalification if participants have gained the First Aid at Work qualification within no more than 3 years. Participants will learn about the roles and responsibilities of the first aider, consent when giving first aid and treatment to casualties, how to administer CPR, place a casualty in the recovery position and administer first aid to a casualty who is choking, having a seizure, in shock and bleeding.
Participants will also learn how to administer first aid to a casualty with a head injury, having a stroke, asthma attack and diabetic emergency. This course can be delivered over 2 days as a requalification for those who have already completed this course within 3 years.
